Pamela (Pam) Stern is the new Social Worker for the Illinois Chapter of the Huntington’s
Disease Society of America. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from
The University of Michigan and her master’s degree in social work, policy, and practice
from The University of Chicago. She was awarded the Josephine L. Taylor Fellowship,
which enabled her to train to lobby in Washington, D.C., for healthcare for those with
disabilities. She has worked extensively in the mental health field. She has held
supervisory positions working with people aged birth to 100+. She has experience
working with people who are blind or visually impaired and with other conditions such as
Parkinson’s Disease, ALS, Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementia-related diseases.
She has led various support groups for clients as well as for their caregivers. Please
